Internship Experience

At the Height of the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Summer of 2020, I was awarded an internship position in San Antonio, TX as an Operations Intern with Six Flags, Fiesta Texas. Coming out of the quarantine and being allowed to open with provisions I was on the front lines of sanitation and safety, rolling out their “Do the Six” COVID Initiative. I learned a lot about the ins and outs of re-opening safely and crowd management. I was awarded the title of Area Lead, for Area 3, which allowed me to manage and teach a team of up to 30 while providing support to area supervisors. My day to day work involved sanitation, cleaning and policy enforcement as well as ride operations, safety checks, and personnel management, I also learned a great deal about corporate empathy and having people feel safe and comfortable re-opening.
